Our Story
James Clement, Nick Mason and Claire Tonti developed the Planet Broadcasting podcast & YouTube network in 2018 after the success of James’ YouTube channel Mr Sunday Movies and the boys’ podcast The Weekly Planet.
At the time, Planet Broadcasting was the largest Australian podcast network with an international reach of its kind.
In 2020 Planet Broadcasting became Big Sandwich Media – a hybrid podcast & YouTube network with a subscription platform including exclusive content from James and Maso.
Big Sandwich Media now has a combined total of over 6 million international monthly views across the US, EU, UK and Australia, 1.4 million monthly podcast downloads and sponsorship revenue from clients including Netflix, Disney, Hulu, Samsung & Lenovo.
The Big Sandwich subscription platform provides an opportunity for the Planet Broadcasting community to access additional content and has been a unique & highly effective model.
At the core of Big Sandwich is a belief in connection and community. The team has been responsible for raising funds for organisations including UNICEF, The Climate Foundation, CARE Australia & Movember. In 2024/25 Big Sandwich also supported the first ever Matrescence Festival in the UK and Australia empowering women with knowledge and support through their transition to motherhood.
